ABOUT RPF CONSTABLE JOB PROFILE, PROMOTION & EXAM
It is one of the best jobs just after passing the 10th class. The recruitment process has been conducted by Indian Railways.
After passing the recruitment process, you will be employed as Constable in Indian Railway Protection Force ( RPF). The age limit is 18–25 years. Education Qualification- SSLC/Matric from a recognized Board.
Presently Employment Notice No.Constable/RPF -01/2018 has been completed.

Promotion Policy
It is very good that direct entry in Gr-C. Normally in this cadre, you will be promoted to level 7 or 8 in due course of time. The first promotion is the head, Constable.
After that, you will become Sub sub-inspector & then Inspector. At last, you will get an Assistant Commandant post after clearing the Departmental exam & Interview.
Priority of Post
There are two options 1. RPF & 2. RPSF ( Railway Protection Special Forces). The place of posting will as per the applied application.
Job Profile
As the name indicates, the main work is the protection of everything concerned to Indian Railways. You will be posted for escorting of trains, Protection of various depots, workshops, platforms, or offices.

The shift will be day-night or regular type.
Pay Scale
Level 3 of 7th CPC pay Matrix with initial pay of Rs. 21,700/- plus other allowances admissible at that time.
Medical Category
The Medical category B-1 has been prescribed in the Indian Railway Medical Manual.

Those wearing glasses or having flat foot, knock-knee, squint eyes, color blindness, and other bodily defects are not eligible for an appointment.

The medical Standard of an Ex-serviceman will be according to Para 534 of Indian Railway Medical Manual (IRMM) Volume I, which may be accessed at www.indianrailways.gov.in.

Selection Process
The entire recruitment process shall involve Computer Based Test(CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement Test(PMT), Document Verification, and Medical Examination.
For the CBT exam, there is the option of various languages Such as (1) Hindi (2) English (3) Urdu (4) Tamil (5) Telugu (6) Konkani (7) Malayalam (8) Kannada (9) Marathi (10) Gujurati (11) Bengali (12) Odia (13) Assamese (14) Manipuri and (15) Punjabi.
The standard of examination will be 10th/Matric level.
Computer-Based Test – 90 questions in 120 minutes? No of Questions (each of 1 mark) from [ General Awareness (50 marks),Arithmetic(35 marks), General Intelligence & reasoning(35 marks)]

Note
For the 1600/800 meters event only one chance will be given. For the remaining events viz Long Jump and High jump, the candidates will be given up to 2 chances each
Ex-servicemen(ESM) shall be exempted from PET, However, they will have to undergo PMT.
PET/PMT is qualifying in nature.
No marks are to be awarded.
Physical Measurement:
Syllabus
The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices and are likely to include questions pertaining to:
a. General Awareness (50 marks): Questions will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society; to test knowledge of current events and such matters of
everyday observations and experiences as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to Indian History, Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Sports,General Science etc.
b. Arithmetic(35 marks): Questions on Number systems, whole numbers, decimal and fractions and relationships between numbers, fundamental arithmetical operations, percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, interest, profit and loss, discount, use of table and graphs, mensuration, time and distance, ratio and proportion, etc.
c. General Intelligence & reasoning(35 marks): Questions on analogies, similarities, and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem-solving analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning, etc.
