CAPF AC VACANCY & PROMOTION SCOPE IN AC POST OF BSF, CISF, SSB, ITBP, CRPF
Here I have explained about Assistant Commandants Post In Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) as in BSF, CISF, SSB, ITBP, CRPF.
Officers in CAPFs are recruited through an Examination conducted by UPSC. They are appointed as Assistant Commandants as Gazetted Officers.
The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) refers to five security forces in India under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
They are 1. Border Security Force (BSF), 2. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), 3. Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), 4. Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), & 5. Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
It is the best job for Intelligent & Physically fit candidates. Basic education & age limit are graduation & 20-25 years respectively. After selection, you will be posted on the post of Assistant Commandant as Group-A officer in any one of them on the basis of merit.
I. Scope of Promotion during Job
Once you posted as Assistant Commandant, After 5-7 years of service you will be promoted as Deputy Commandant.
The 2nd promotion comes after 5-6 years of service as post -Deputy Commandant to 2nd in Command.
Again after 4 years of service, you will be promoted as Commandant. Commandant to Additional Deputy Inspector General – It requires a minimum of 18 years of service in Group A.
Further for getting promotion Additional DIG to Deputy Inspector General- Min 20 years of service span in Group A.
Lastly, you become Inspector General, but it requires min 24 years of service in Group A.
Basically, promotion depends upon other factors also such as place of posting, get awards during service, reservations rules, etc.
II.Selection Process
It is basically a graduation-level post. Age will be 20 to 25 years. The selection process is a combination of Objective Written exam, Subjective Written exam & Physical Efficiency Test & Medical Examination.
Objective Written exam:- 250 mark questions in this paper will be of Objective (Multiple Answers) Type in which the questions will be set in English as well as Hindi. Syllabus:- General Ability based on economics, history, current affairs, science, politics, and Intelligence, etc.
Subjective Written exam:- 200 Marks In this paper candidates will be allowed the option of writing the Essay Component in English or Hindi, but the medium of Precis Writing, Comprehension Components, and other communications/ language skills will be English only. Syllabus:-General Study, Essay, comprehension, English, etc.
Physical Efficiency Test & Medical Examination

NOTE:-Pregnancy at the time of PET will be a disqualification and pregnant female candidates will be rejected. Possession of NCC – B or C Certificate will be a desirable qualification. These qualifications will be given consideration at the time of the Interview/Personality Test only.
Interview/Personality Test:- 150 marks Candidates who are declared qualified in the Medical Standards Tests, will be called for an Interview/Personality Test to be conducted by Union Public Service Commission. Candidates who are declared medically unfit but allowed to appear before the �Review Medical Board� on their appeal by the Appellate Authority will be called for Interview/Personality Tests provisionally.
Candidates who are short-listed for the Interview/Personality Test, including those shortlisted for Interview/Personality Test provisionally will be issued a Detailed Application Form (DAF) in which among other things, they will be required to indicate their preference of Forces.
III. Suggestion for preparation of the exam
Its exam has been conducted by UPSC. Accordingly, its exam standard is similar to the exam Standard of IAS, IPS, etc level. The best book is NCERT books from class VII to XII for Geography & science subjects.

IV. Brief information about vacancies in 2023
No of vacancy:-(i)BSF- 86, (ii) CRPF- 55, (iii) CISF- 91, (iv) ITBP- 60, (v) SSB- 30, TOTAL – 323
FEE:-Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST Candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay the fee of Rs.200/-
Online Application:-The Online Applications can be filled up to 16th May, 2023 till 18.00 hours.
Exam Date:-The written examination to be conducted by Union Public Service Commission will be held on 6th August 2023 and will comprise two papers. Paper I will be held from 10 a.m. to 12.00 Noon and Paper II will be held from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
HOW TO APPLY::-Candidates are required to apply online only by using the website https://www.upsconline.nic.in. Engineers are also eligible for the job.
Allotment of Centres:- It will be on a first-apply-first allot basis, and once the capacity of a particular Centre is attained, the same will be frozen. Applicants, who cannot get a Centre of their choice due to the ceiling, will be required to choose a Centre from the remaining ones.
WITHDRAWAL OF APPLICATIONS:-The Commission has introduced the facility of withdrawal of application for those candidates who do not want to appear for the Examination. The online Applications can be withdrawn from 17.05.2023 to 23.05.2023 till 6.00 PM.
