GARLIC A MEDICINAL MIRACLE OR MYTH ?

 

1. GARLIC AS PER AYURVEDA

According to Ayurveda, food items are divided into three categories, sattvic, rajasic, and tamasic. Garlic and other alliums (lushuni) plants are classified as Tamasic.

 

It means that garlic promotes Sexual desires, passion, and ignorance, which hinders the path of the religious person.

So Garlic is prohibited for religious-natured persons. But in the present age, due to its medicinal properties, Garlic is used commonly in our life.

 

2. ABOUT GARLIC & ITS CHEMICAL CONTENT

 
Allicin in garlic is the most active component, which is responsible for its germ-killing. Garlic has other nutrients such as Vitamin B1, B2, B3, B6, folate, magnesium, phosphorus, sodium, zinc, iron, manganese, calcium.
 Folate helps to make red blood cells. These elements make garlic a great anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and immunity-boosting agent.

 

 

 

3. TYPES OF GARLIC

In addition to normal garlic, two other types’ garlic is very useful for us.

Kashmiri Garlic: Best for controlling diabetes problems.

Black Garlic: Basically it is made by fermentation of normal garlic. After fermentation, black garlic doubles its nutrient values. Regular consumption of black garlic can repair damaged cells in the brain. So it is great for diseases like Dementia and Alzheimer’s.

4. GARLIC MEDICINAL PROPERTIES

FOR ATHEROSCLEROSIS:- It is a chronic disease that is caused by damage to the arterial wall from inflammation and fibro-fatty deposits.

Atherosclerosis is the process of deposition of fats, cholesterol in the artery walls. Deposits in arteries can obstruct blood flow. It results in Coronary artery disease in form of Stroke; Myocardial infarction; Angina.

 

FOR DIABETES MELLITUS (TYPE 1 & TYPE 2):- Garlic has allicin, allyl propyl disulfide, and S-allyl cysteine sulfoxide. They can raise insulin levels in the blood. Kashmiri Lahsun is best for this purpose.

 

FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE:- Chewing raw garlic activates allinase enzymes for releasing maximum allicin. It reduces High cholesterol, Hypertension (high blood pressure).

 

IMMUNITY BOOSTER- Since garlic has anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory properties. Regular use of raw garlic develops immunity power.

 

OTHER BENEFITS:- Garlic boosts your metabolism s that burns all the calories. So you lose weight constantly. Due to its various chemical compounds, it prevents you from Prostate cancer. 

 

5. HOW TO USE GARLIC

Before breakfast, one or two cloves can be taken. But it is not suitable for everyone.

You can also take crushed cloves with honey.

For avoiding its stinking fragrance, rinse your mouth with mouthwash contains peppermint, drink a green tea, or chew elaichi.

Otherwise, you can take it in another form for mentioned further.
