JAM FOR MASTERS FROM IITS & JAM APPLICATION DATE, SEATS IN IITS

The Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) is a common admission test to Master of Science (M.Sc.) and other post-graduate science programs from IITs & IISC Bangalore.

After graduation, any Indian can be applied for JAM. It is being conducted from 2004 to provide admissions to M.Sc. (Four Semesters), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, etc. Programs at the IITs and Integrated Ph.D. Degree Programmes at IISc.

For consolidating Science as a career option, it is the best option for Master’s. These postgraduate programs at IITs and IISc offer high-quality education in their respective disciplines, comparable to the best in the world.

JAM 2021 will have seven Test Papers, namely, (i) Biotechnology (BT), (ii) Chemistry (CY), (iii) Economics (EN), (iv) Geology (GG), (v) Mathematics (MA), (vi) Mathematical Sciences (MS) and (vii) Physics (PH). Economics (EN) paper is added from 2021 (newly this year).

All the Test Papers of JAM 2021 will be of entirely objective type, with three different patterns of questions, namely (i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

A candidate can appear in either one or two test paper(s) by paying an additional fee. Candidates opting to appear for two test papers must ensure that they do not choose test papers that are scheduled in the same session.

The curricula for these programs are designed to provide academic talent leading to a challenging and rewarding professional life. Applications will be accepted ONLINE only through JAM 2021 website.

The test will be conducted on 14th February 2021 in two sessions:

* 9.30pm to 12.30 pm – Biotechnology (BT), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH)

* 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm – Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), and Mathematics (MA)
