IIM MUMBAI (NITIE): -PARADISE FOR ENGINEERS ALL STREAMS
On August 11, 2023, the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) became the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai.

The IIM Mumbai is the 21st IIM in all of India. Rather than awarding Post Graduate Diplomas, now it will give MBA degrees.

National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) is paradise for Engineers,since it is only for Engineers. Another paradise for Civil Engineers is NICMAR. It mixes your Technical knowledge with managerial & other skills.

NITIE was set up by the Govt. of India in 1963 with United Nations Development Program (UNDP) assistance through the International Labor Organization (ILO).

It is among the best institutes for Industrial Engineering and Management of India. NITIE offers five programs
at postgraduate level-
Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering (PGDIE),
Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management (PGDIM),
Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety and Environmental Management (PGDISEM)
Post Graduate Diploma in Manufacturing Management (PGDMM),
Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management (PGDPM).
In addition, NITIE offers Post Graduate Program for Executives- Visionary Leaders for Manufacturing (PGPEX-VLFM) and Fellow (Doctoral) Programme
too.
I. PGDIM & PGDISEM HAVE SAME ELIGIBILTY & SELECTION PROCESS.
1. PGDIM
Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management (PGDIM) is focussed on Industrial Management Training for Engineers. PGDIM aims to groom young managers who will design better procedures and systems and manage the associated technologies successfully. PGDIM blends classroom work and hands-on industry internship to nurture First Class Engineers into World Class Managers.
2. PGDISEM
As a name, PGDISEM incorporates safety, social and environmental issues of Industry. It introduces students to a systemic approach for the evaluation of environmental, social, and economic impacts. Apart from classroom teaching, the emphasis is laid on industrial visits, practical case studies, industrial guest faculty, presentations, and management games.
Eligibility:-
1. The candidate, who passed or in the Final year of a full-time Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech) degree in any branch from a recognized university with an average of 60% marks in all semesters.
2. Valid CAT 2019 score.
Selection Process:-
Shortlisted candidates based on CAT score will be called for Group Discussion & Personal Interview at NITIE, Mumbai.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:
15% of the approved intake (in supernumerary quota) will be reserved for international students in each program offered by NITIE.
Entry-level qualification shall be at par with that of Indian students as specified above and the candidates should have a valid GMAT score.
Foreign candidates should have a valid TOEFL or IELTS score. All the candidates are required to have a minimum of 18 (eighteen) months of stay at overseas countries as on the last date of submission of application as prescribed.
All international candidates must submit an SOP (Statement of Purpose) and two LORs(Letters of Recommendations) in soft copy.
Shortlisted candidates should attend the interview along with Indian students; if not feasible, there is an option for the interview through video conferencing. For calculating the aggregate, all semesters’ marks/SGPA/percentage shall be averaged.
II. PGDIE, PGDMM & PGDPM HAVE SAME ELIGIBILITY & SELECTION PROCESS.
1. PGDIE
PGDIE course has been started in NITIE in 1963. It is a two-year full-time course. The program covers a variety of courses covering the areas of Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, IT and Systems, Marketing Management, Finance and Human Resources Management.
The emphasis of the curriculum is on developing an all-around personality that stands at any challenge in the corporate world. The case studies, presentations, industry projects, and co-curricular activities add to first-hand experience and learning.
2. PGDPM
This program converts Engineers into Project Managers. Project Managers responsible for the cost-effective, timely, and safe delivery of a broad range of projects in the industry.
The program covers subjects from different areas such as; Industrial Engineering & Manufacturing Systems, Operations & Supply Chain Management, Decision Sciences & Information Systems,
Engineering & Technology to provide an orientation on not only learning the fundamentals of project management but also to understand the importance of integrating projects with the company’s strategic intent.
3. PGDMM
As the name, Post Graduate Manufacturing Management Program that will facilitate students in developing their skills and decision-making
capabilities in the manufacturing domain giving them a cutting edge in executing the business strategy at the manufacturing function level.
The scientific approach to the management of manufacturing function allows understanding how production processes, people and skills within the business organization can be efficiently and effectively deployed to meet the business objectives from market competitiveness.
Eligibility:-
The candidate, who passed or in the Final year of a full-time Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech) degree in any branch from a recognized university with an average of 60% marks in all semesters.
Valid GATE 2018 or 2019 or 2020 score.
Selection Process:-
Shortlisted candidates on the basis of CAT score will be called for Group Discussion & Personal Interview at NITIE, Mumbai.
